An angel lands
On my window seal
Do I let her in?
No I would feel
She’s a pretty angel
What does she want with me?
I’ll keep the window closed
Then I can stay free
She may learn who I am
If I let her in
She may not want me
I might lose again
She’s not leaving
What can she want?
I’ll open a little
I’m tough, why not
She’s really quite small
Can’t be a threat
Won’t get attached
That you can bet
Love from her
Gives me ease
To love her
That can’t be me
I had tried love
It didn’t work
All I got
Was lots of hurt
Love I am sure
Not for me to feel
So why is she here
On my window seal
Please go away
And take your love
You say it’s for me
Given from above
What could I have done?
How can this be true?
Did I earn this love
Of an angel like you
You gently speak
Your words so sweet
You’re my angel
To watch over me
I don’t know
I don’t have a clue
If I stop now
Not much to lose
I’ll show you love
I have so much to give
I am not leaving
Your window seal
I’ll open a little
Just to appease
But don’t enter
I don’t want teased
Don’t turn love away
When given from above
You may never get
Another chance to love
But my heart I protect
It’s so easily pained
Let me love you
So much to gain
Don’t lose this love
If this is true
Or am I being
Some kind of fool
Open up
Love you will feel
I won’t stay forever
On your window seal
I couldn’t let her leave
And never know
What it was
She had to show
I found a love
So strong with mine
How could I ever
Have been so blind
When life’s struggles
Makes me feel insecure
She softly whispers
Baby, I’m here
What did I do?
To earn such a love
I never earned it
A gift from God above
I will be writing the stories of my life. I will keep these stories as true to life as I can. I will also include poetry that I have written.

Cigarettes and Beer
Woke this morning
Headache to kill
Cough that won’t quit
Popped another pill
Drag to the fridge
Looking for a beer
Get things started
To having not a care
Ashtray running over
They must be mine
Can’t remember last night
But had a good time
Need a carton of cigarettes
Down to my last beer
Go the market
Get this old car in gear
Take side streets
Can’t get pulled
Licenses suspended
No tags on this jewel
Gage on empty
I don’t really care
As long as I can get
My cigarettes and beer
I haven’t eaten
In I don’t know when
Late notice
My heat will end
Who can I call
Who can I tell
Won’t let me freeze
That I know well
The family knows
Every now and then
I need help
That’s why we have kin
Sputtered into the drive
Pizza driver glaring
“Next time friend”
Not a dime to spare
Can you drop that check by
You know I can’t drive
While you are at it
Can you spare another five
Yes mother
I have almost quit
No reason at all
To throw such a fit
You can check the fridge
No beer to be found
Can I get another ten
To get me to town
Yes Mother
I know you are old
But you don’t really want
Me out in the cold
After all Mother
Pay the rent, I know you care
I’ll buy my own damn
Cigarettes and beer
Headache to kill
Cough that won’t quit
Popped another pill
Drag to the fridge
Looking for a beer
Get things started
To having not a care
Ashtray running over

In Your Dreams
We came together
Meeting of two souls
By chance circumstances
Attractions untold
A connection
Feeling unexplained
A trust between us
The desire was plain
Was it love?
Could it be?
Story beyond believe
Too unreal for TV
Bridges to cross
And many falls
Unexpected turns
You’re worth it all
We struggle for
Love and happiness
And we will win over
These happenstances
You incarcerated
Without you my life amiss
Love for you overwhelming
Not even a kiss
Future so hard
Long time it seems
But be assured
It will be me
When you are lonely
Life is too much
Close your pretty eyes
Feel my touch
Hear my breathing
Right by your side
Holding you
Kissing you good night
When you wake
Feel a peace
I was there with you
I visit in your dreams
Meeting of two souls
By chance circumstances
Attractions untold
A connection
Feeling unexplained
A trust between us
The desire was plain
Was it love?
Could it be?

I was there with you
I visit in your dreams
Southern Bell
You are my love song
You lighten my way
You are the meaning of life
You make my day
When you smile
It starts my world to spin
When I touch your face
I feel the love within
Your love gives me strength
It protect me against the winds
To face life’s challenges
For with you I can win
The poetry of your love
I long to hear
Always know Love
That I love you dear
When “I love you”
You mouth silently to me
I return “I love you”
In the crowd you only I see
When from across the room
The shift of your eyes I can not miss
We sneak from the party
To steal a kiss
Sleep evades me
But knowing that I can
I want ever minute with you
But I sleep holding your hand
When you wake me to say “I love you”
My heart swells
Your words burn inside me
My Southern Bell
You lighten my way
You are the meaning of life
You make my day
When you smile
It starts my world to spin

Mother’s Child
A new born baby
Love so sweet
Mother cherish
His ever feat
His smiles
His coo,s
Starts to talk
Start to school
Handsome little boy
Starts to run
Plays all day
Loads of fun
Become a teenager
Grows up tall
Center of attention
Spoiled by all
Now, not so loveable
Not even liked
Too good for everything
Too good for his bike
Starts to drink
Skipping school
Does some drugs
Breaks the rules
What happened?
Don’t understand
What went wrong?
To her young man
Mother still sees
Her baby dear
But for everyone else
He is asshole of the year
Love so sweet
Mother cherish

His coo,s

Look at Me
Look at me
Aren’t I cool
My Mama
She raised no fool
Don’t you wish
That you were me
Swaggering about
For all to see
Walk with a twist
To give you a thrill
I even let
You pay the bill
The expensive meal
I did not touch
But to be seen with me
Is almost too much
I give you a smile
It’s part of my game
Pretend I care
You are so lame
I know I’m great
The way they look
I read them
Like an open book
Even the waiter
Can’t believe his luck
In your dreams
You poor smuck
“Thanks for the evening”
A peck on the cheek
Didn’t expect more
You dumb prick
Here’s my number
You’re glad I care
Surprise fool!!!
It’s dial-a-prayer
Aren’t I cool

Grandpa
We visited our history
The school grandpa taught
Ninety years later
We walked where he walked
We set on the steps
Looked out as a school day
Where he had once stood
To watch the children play
We got a connection
Of life before us
Pride of who he was
This visit a must
They had buried a child here
Vona Ethel before she was eight
A daughter is born
Jewell – so small in weight
A legacy he left
Life’s he help change
Descendants of his students
He influenced things
We all thank him
As descendants of his we aspire
He was such a man
Without reserve we admire
We honor him
By memorialize his name
Children are named John & Chesney
Names bound for fame
We tell about Grandpa
He’s been gone many years
Not only a hero after he is gone
But a hero when alive and near
A more wonderful grandfather
No one ever had
To those that don’t remember him
To you we feel sad

Sorry
I am sorry for calling
You a mean crazy bitch
And for calling your mother
A mean ugly witch
And I apologize
I was a butt
For calling your dear sister
A fat stinking slut
I will even apologize to
Your alcoholic brother
Shouldn’t called him that
Meant nothing against your mother
Sure he likes to party
He enjoys a drink or two
Your sister kids’ dads
No one has a clue
But if you will come
And be home soon
You can even ride
On your mother’s broom
Your Voices inside
what do they say?
Not to go home
Then fucking stay!
And your dam brother
hope they keep him locked up
And your sister’s VD
I hope she rots
Without you, my dear
How happy I will be
After all, your voices must agree
The only sane one here, is me.
